The Royal Academy of Dance is one of the world's most influential dance education organsiations. Their exams set the standards in classical ballet. All RAD registered teachers have passed rigorous exams to ensure that they can teach young bodies safely and competently.

We offer all RAD grades from Pre-Primary level to Grade 8, as well as the Vocational Grades up to Advanced.

Our Pre-School Ballet classes, from two and a half years, introduce our youngest pupils to dance in a fun and creative way using props and themes. We encourage children to use their own imagination with a sense of play, whilst gently establishing the basics of ballet technique.

The ISTD is one of the world's leading dance examination boards and ensure that all their registered teachers are thoroughly trained to be safe practitioners of dance.

We offer all grades in Tap and Modern from Primary to Grade 6, and the Vocational Grades up to Advanced.

Contemporary is an ever evolving dance form, increasingly popular at the moment due to TV programmes such as Dance Moms, So You Think You Can Dance, and The Next Step. It focuses on use of space, freedom of movement and floor work, combining modern and classical ballet elements. Creativity is key, with a strong focus on improvisation.

We have taught Contemporary since 2011 and are proud to now be one of the first dance schools in the country to be qualified to teach the innovative iD Company syllabus. Students need to be attending one of our ballet classes in order to have the necessary strength for a contemporary class.

A range of classes are offered from age 4 to 18 and incorporate dance technique, singing and performance elements. Students learn song and dance numbers from West End and Broadway shows, enhancing confidence and performance skills. Pupils have opportunities to perform in shows and events throughout the year and to take examinations with the IDTA if they wish. We also run a boys only Musical Theatre class open to boys in Year 7 and above.

The Acrobatic Arts syllabus is designed to promote excellence in flexibility, strength, balance, limbering, tumbling, basic contortion and partner/group stunting for dancers.

Acro dance is not the same as gymnastics, it is instead the artistic motion of dance alongside the athleticism of acrobatics.

An Acro dancer must be able to do all skills on a normal floor while integrating musicality, emotional expression, extension, control and line.

A high energy, fun class where pupils learn all different types of Jazz.  This is a non-syllabus class which helps pupils pick up choreography quickly and complements the other more syllabus based dance classes we offer.

Speech and Drama lessons give pupils confidence in public speaking as well as working on their acting and stage skills. They are also invaluable for students preparing for auditions. For younger pupils, the lessons enable them to work on a wide range of performance skills including voice work, mime, improvisation, speaking in verse or prose. Pupils follow the Trinity syllabus and are able to take exams if they wish.
